Pro-life GP says none of her patients have regretted having a child

'As a GP, I have met many patients who have regretted their decision to have an abortion, but I have yet to meet a woman who regretted having her child.' Read the full article at fellow blogger's space: http://2catholicmomof10revisited.blogspot.com/ or the Daily Mail on-line.
"The young woman sitting in front of GP Dr Tamie Downes was weeping inconsolably. She told the doctor she was depressed and couldn't sleep or eat properly. There were times, she said, when she felt like killing herself.
Dr Downes had never seen the patient before, and as she went through her medical history, the woman, in her early 20s, told the GP that she'd had a termination a year earlier.
Instead of being the relief she'd imagined it to be, her life had gone downhill. Like many women, she had felt the time wasn't right for a baby and was worried about the effect it would have on her career.
'She'd thought it a minor thing, but it had turned out to be much more significant than she'd thought,' says Dr Downes.
'Until we spoke, she hadn't connected the termination with her depression. I referred her for counselling, and thankfully she is much more balanced emotionally.
'It is surprisingly common to find a past abortion in the medical history of women who present with depression.'"
