When a loved one passes on.

ORDINARY SAINTS: HELPING MAKE PRAYER MORE KID-FRIENDLY
If someone close to your family has recently died, help your child to see that person as a saint who can intercede for them. Try something like this for an explanation:
“Now that Uncle Joe is in heaven with God, he really knows God so much better than we do. When you have a problem, ask Uncle Joe to take it to God for you. Uncle Joe still loves you so much—even more now that he’s in heaven. He’ll want to do what he can to help you. And because Uncle Joe knows God so well now, he can help you know God better, too.”
