Personally we have experienced my father on a ward and left without food and fluids. An operation where someone was sent home early and only after three phone calls able to get a doctor out and readmitted to a hospital where there where no beds and had to be transported to another hospital at 4 am in the morning before treatment. And a maternity ward with no midwives taking an 'active' role in the birth of a baby without pestering for attention.
