Would you like to know the Truth?

This will be in several parts over the week starting with:
(“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." – John 8:32)
A response to a Watch Tower Leaflet
Does God Really Care About Us?
Perhaps the question should be ‘does God really care about me?’ – because that is what we are really interested in – how does God relate to us and our lives.

I Knew God Would Take Care of Me when I was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church. They are really nice people and they accepted me with an open heart.

"And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent," (John 17:3, NASB).

"God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."—1 Timothy 2:3, 4.

Acts 4:12 (New International Version): 12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

The life of man is to know and love God. God calls all men to Himself through His beloved son Jesus that we may be adopted sons and daughters and heirs of the promise of eternal life. We are the ‘bride of Christ’ – to be married to Jesus not just as priests and nuns but as laity in the work and callings that God calls us to do, using our talents that he has given us to further the Kingdom of God.

God chose 12 apostles to spread the Word of the Kingdom of God and he chose Peter to oversee them and the new Christians. Jesus asked Peter to look after his flock and gave him the keys to the Kingdom of heaven. Matthew 28:20 (King James Version) - 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Jesus has not left us orphans but gave us His Holy Spirit to be with us for comfort and teaching. His presence is always with us especially in the Blessed Sacrament which He commanded his followers to do after He had left the earth and ascended into heaven. ‘Whoever eats My flesh and drinks my blood’ (John 6:54, NKJ). We are all called to bring the Good News that we have received to others.

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.
